A pile driver standing idle on site creates a direct cost: lost productivity, replacement plant hire and contractual penalties.
TURCHI machines that follow the recommended maintenance programme achieve an average uptime of 98%. The checklist covers daily checks, 500 and 1,000-hour interventions and technical support.
Pile driver maintenance: checks and intervals
Operational continuity depends on daily checks, scheduled maintenance and exclusive use of genuine parts. The integrated hour meter on every TURCHI pile driver tracks the service intervals.
Daily checks
Before each working session, the operator checks:
- Hydraulic oil: level, colour and absence of emulsion. The system operates at up to 180 bar, so even a small anomaly can spread quickly.
- Filters: visual condition of the engine oil filter, hydraulic oil filter, air filter, fuel filter and water separator filter.
- Leaks: flexible hoses, fittings and cylinders for traces of oil or fuel.
- Tracks and undercarriage: track tension, rubber pads, rollers and drive wheels.
- Column and guides: guide pads and bushes to maintain driving precision.
The check takes about five minutes and can identify anomalies before work starts.
500-hour maintenance kit
Every 500 operating hours, an intermediate intervention is due. The integrated hour meter tracks the interval, and the kit is pre-configured for the specific model. It includes:
- engine oil filter, fuel filter and water separator filter;
- engine oil in the quantity specified for the model;
- drain plug gaskets;
- hydraulic oil filter and hydraulic oil;
- engine air filter and secondary air filter, where fitted;
- alternator/fan belt.
The kit includes a PDF maintenance checklist that guides the technician step by step. With a scheduled maintenance contract, dispatch starts automatically when the hour meter reaches the scheduled interval.
1,000-hour maintenance kit
At 1,000 hours, a full overhaul is carried out. The kit includes everything in the 500-hour kit, plus components subject to structural wear:
- hydraulic cylinder seal kits;
- column guide pads, complete set;
- hydraulic flexible hoses, critical set;
- timing belt, where specified by the engine;
- track tensioning kit.
A general inspection and adjustment are also recommended at this interval, including the hydraulic hammer components. The hammer is designed for millions of cycles without major maintenance, but benefits from a visual check of impact points, guide bushes and wear plates.
The electrical system check covers temperature, pressure and inclination sensors, wiring and connectors. To assess the cost of components that wear over time, see what pile driver wear parts cost.
Remote monitoring and predictive maintenance
Every TURCHI pile driver can be fitted with the remote monitoring system, which transmits diagnostic data in real time through an app:
- GPS position: real-time machine location.
- Engine hours: data for planning service intervals.
- Hammer cycles: blow count for assessing wear.
- Temperatures and pressures: continuous monitoring of the hydraulic system.
- Maintenance alerts: automatic notifications before components reach wear limits.
The system also enables remote diagnostics. The support team analyses anomalies without sending a technician to site, reducing intervention times. Operators managing several machines can monitor the whole fleet through one interface.
Genuine parts, support and training
All TURCHI spare parts are 100% genuine or supplied by certified OEM manufacturers. Delivery is within 48 hours across Europe. Average technical support response time is 15 minutes during working hours, with a guaranteed maximum of 24 hours.
TURCHI also offers:
- Scheduled maintenance contracts: interventions every 500 and 1,000 hours, kits included, priority for urgent work and machine-condition monitoring.
- Technical training: operator courses, maintenance technician training and updates on new features.
- Dies and wear parts: dies for pile profiles H, C, U and Sigma, and auger points from Ø 80-400 mm, available for all models.
To order parts or activate a maintenance contract, contact the support team with the machine model and serial number. If you are still choosing the machine and want to assess running costs, start with the 7-step configurator.
